I started this painting over a month ago, and I finished it today. We do not get many sunflowers in suburban New Jersey, so when I saw these last fall I made sure to get a photo. This is 11 x 15 watercolor on Arches.

Hi Michelle,
You really captured the essence of sunflowers in the field.
Yes, they are the Ringwood sunflowers. They weren't too impressive in person, but I zoomed in really close for the photo and got a decent shot. I really like the way they came out.
I really like your work, Michelle. I am especially drawn to these sunflowers. My focus in watercolor has been mostly flowers and these are wonderfully composed and painted.
I am a watercolor artist living in New Jersey. I am a member of the North East Watercolor Society, the New Jersey Watercolor Society, and several local and internet art organizations through which I exhibit my paintings. My favorite subjects are close focused florals and landscapes. I've recently begun teaching a beginning watercolor class at our local senior center.

Are these the sunflowers you took the photos of at Ringwood? If so, they look much better here. These are lovely!!!

Michelle, your sunflowers are superb! As a fellow floral painter I know a good one when I see it! Just lovely! What size is it?
