Amaryllis Collage

This collage was done for a project on WetCanvas. The object was to take an old painting and cut it up, and weave another painting, or other paper through it, adding other media, to make a new piece of art. I cut the old amaryllis painting into strips, and used matte medium to paste it onto black paper. I interspersed five strips of gold scrapbooking paper and went over the watercolored stamens with a gold pen. Now I need a name for the new piece.

What a great project--I really love the results you got: very dramatic and intriguing!

It reminds me of someone "Behind Bars". Sorry I couldn't resist.

Mickey - It amazes me that your did this from those pieces in your living room!! Good work! Now you'll have to think of a way to use the leftover pieces.

Thanks, Laura, Jeanne and Joan.

I actually have two sets of extra pieces, the ones I cut the wrong way, and another whole set cut horizontally that has a similar painting with pastel over it. So I could do two more amaryllis collages, but I want them to be sufficiently different from this one - just need to come up with a new idea.
