Irises

I painted these irises from life at my Thursday painting session with my friends. Anna, one of the other artists, picked these from her garden for us to use as reference. I love the purple/yellow/green combination.

This duo was painted from a photo I took at Grey's Iris Garden last year. I like the rich red/purples contrasted with the lighter tops.

I really like the second one with the reds popping against all that green.

I'm glad to see you posting on your blog again. Missed you.

Hi Michelle,
Your flowers have such "personality"! You can tell you have a passion for this subject.

These iris paintings are lovely. The grouping looks like dancers. Nice colors.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I do have a "passion" for flowers, although I can't seem to grow them.

Jo, my friend Rhonda from one of my internet w/c groups said that those irises look like leggy ladies with big hairdo's. :-)

Mickey - These came out great! I always love your flowers. I guess we missed the Iris Gardens this year. Hopefully it will cool off a bit and we can go somewhere to paint outdoors soon.
