I found these Clematis hiding among many much larger plants at the NJ Botanical Gardens at Skylands. The sun was peeking through the shade at just the right angle to light up these blue/purple beauties.
I am a watercolor artist living in New Jersey. I am a member of the North East Watercolor Society, the New Jersey Watercolor Society, and several local and internet art organizations through which I exhibit my paintings. This has such a great play of light on the petals and leaves. Super job!!! You are really getting back into painting. I'm glad to see it!
Hi Michelle. This is gorgeous. Love the play of light and shadow. Found your blog as a link from Susie Short and so happy to find you.
Yes, the light and shadows are gorgeous, as is the shade of purple you've used. And I like the greens too.
Hi Michelle,
Your florals are stunning. I particularly like your clematis! Nice contrast of soft and hard edges!
Michelle, the shadows and the colors are so stunning.
This is so gorgeous, Michelle! I always notice how the light and shadows play with flowers, and you captured that so well here.
Thanks, everyone. Yes, the light and shadows are what drew me to paint this, and I'm glad that I was able to bring it across to you.
