My next door neighbor has this beautiful tulip magnolia tree that sits right at the property line, so to many people it looks like it belongs to me. I take advantage of it's closeness to photograph it and to paint it every spring. This year the blossoms were more prolific than usual. "Tulip Magnolia" is 11x15

I have the same tree, and also had many more blooms than usual. I love the subject--the shapes of the petals and the cast shadows are compelling--but never, ever can get the color right--which you have done beautifully! This is truly gorgeous!
Mickey - This came out gorgeous!!! Your colors and shading are great on those beautiful petals. It is sad that the blossoms can't stay on the trees a lot longer.
