Mothers' Day Roses

I received two lovely floral bouquets this Mothers' Day, and started paintings of them from life that day. I got a good start on both of them, but did not complete them before the flowers wilted and died. I worked on them from time to time, and finished this one on Thursday during my painting group. I really enjoyed painting these lovely deep red roses.

My favorite subjects are close focused florals and landscapes. I've recently begun teaching a beginning watercolor class at our local senior center.

Mickey - I like the way this one came out too. This way the bouquets last a little longer. lol
