I did this painting from a photo taken at Oven's Mouth Preserve while on a hike with my sister Joan a couple of years ago. I liked the view of the water looking through the trees. 15 x 11 on Arches rough.
Thanks, Joan. I have some fond/and not so fond memories of that hike. LOL! But there were a number of pretty spots to paint and photograph, and this one was my favorite.
I am a watercolor artist living in New Jersey. I am a member of the North East Watercolor Society, the New Jersey Watercolor Society, and several local and internet art organizations through which I exhibit my paintings. My favorite subjects are close focused florals and landscapes. I've recently begun teaching a beginning watercolor class at our local senior center.

That was a nice place to hike...if you weren't carrying art supplies like we were. This came out really nice. Good color and nice work on the trees.
