Wave Watching

Don't you just love watching waves! I must have taken hundreds of photos of waves at the Jersey Shore, in Hawaii, and in Maine. This painting was done on Yupo (that plastic "paper") from one of my Hawaii photos. Yupo is great for painting water - it runs and puddles all over the place, but you can wipe out the whites if you need to. And you get neat puddling effects that you can't predict which makes it really exciting.
Approximately 10x14 on Yupo

Beautiful and fresh and great water movement, Michelle :) Waves and water just want to be painted on yupo, don't they? Time spent watching the waves roll in is never wasted :)

Beautiful this is. You are certainly making waves!
I don't know much about working on yupo. I am sure you had lots of fun working on that paper.

I guess your block is gone! Very nice job on this. The waves came out really well on the yupo. I can almost hear the sound of the waves.

The waves are so beautiful... I wish I could paint oceans like this.

This is very refreshing and takes me right to the ocean! Yupo works well for the looseness and flow here!
