Happy Birthday, Joan!

It's my sister's birthday today. This is the image that I used on her birthday card. We frequently paint together, and we both recently purchased Daniel Smith's Toucan Triad - Quinacridone gold deep, Pyrrol Orange, and Ultramarine Turquoise. Those colors were perfect for this cactus. Michelle, Your last two pieces are really beautiful. Lucky sister! I got your comment today on my blog but when I replied, it disappeared into another galaxy, I guess??? The ginkgos were all fluid acrylics. If you can, give them a try, too.

Another thought - have you tried Daniel Smith's Transparent Pyrrol Orange? It's really vibrant.

Now I can comment since this has arrived in the mail. I LOVE it! Blooming cacti are so lovely, and we don't get them here. The triad colors really work for this...perfect for the cactus and the blooms. I'm going to mat and frame it!!
