Last week my sister and I took a "pouring" workshop with Jean Grastorf. This was our "starter pour" to get our feet wet (some of us actually did). We traced our hands and some letter and number stencils and then masked out shapes, starting with the lightest. I think this had 3 pours. Afterward I added some stamps.

You got good color and texture in this.
I took a pouring class about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. You are right, it's a slow process and you really have to be good at masking. But I like the idea of doing it to create modern art type work..we were attempting to do landscapes which I found difficult to achieve. Though I do really want to try again...thanks for the inspiration!
